This release introduces a re‑architected Mobile Protection scanning model that fully leverages cloud‑based security definitions. By relying on cloud definitions at all times, Mobile Protection delivers more effective malware and Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA) detection while improving overall performance.
The move to cloud‑based scanning eliminates the need to locally check, download, store, or manage definitions, resulting in improvements across network usage, disk space, CPU, memory, and battery consumption.
-
NEW – Cloud‑Based Scanning Architecture – More effective real‑time prevention and protection with improved on‑device performance.
- NEW – Offline Scans – When a scan is initiated while offline, the app prompts the user to reconnect and retry. Scheduled scans that fail due to lack of connectivity will retry at the next scheduled interval, and administrators will be alerted if a scan remains incomplete.
- NEW – Policy Behavior – Definition update schedules configured in the console now apply only to devices running older app versions.
