When you deploy the Webroot agent to macOS, Apple mandates that the user grants Webroot Full Disk Access. You can use JAMF to deploy a configuration file that completes this step prior to the deployment of the Webroot agent.

Note: The first time the user interface is opened, a prompt to approve FDA may still be shown even if it has been pre-configured. This can be safely ignored as long as the System Preference’s “Security Privacy” panel shows that FDA has been granted to the Webroot SecureAnywhere app. You can also check that FDA has been successfully granted by verifying that any scan is in progress or has completed.

Deploying a Full Disk Access enabled config file involves two steps:
  1. Configuring the Privacy Policy Control (PPPC) Utility
  2. Configuring JAMF

Step 1: Configuring the Privacy Preferences Policy Control (PPPC) Utility

Note: This process must be completed on a system where the Webroot agent is installed and Full Disk Access granted. Click here for instructions on installing the Webroot agent.

  1. Download the PPPC utility:
  2. Create a config file for the utility.

  3. In the bottom left part of the screen, click the plus icon (+) to add the Webroot agent to the config file.

  4. Navigate to the Webroot SecureAnywhere application and double-click it.
    • Set the permissions for All Files to Allow.

  5. Choose Upload to JAMF server or Save, then upload to the JAMF server manually.
    • Saving and uploading to the JAMF server manually requires less configuration than the Upload to JAMF server option.

Step 2: Configuring JAMF
  1. In the left-hand navigation column, go to Configuration Profiles.
    • If the Upload route was used in the PPPC, the config should already be present.

  2. Upload a new Configuration Profile.

  3. Provide or select:
    • Name (required)
    • Description (optional)
    • Choose Distribution Method from the drop-down menu
      • Automatic (recommended)
      • Self-service
    • Choose Level from the drop-down menu
      • User Level
      • Computer Level (recommended)

  4. Save your changes.

  5. Deploy the FDA config file via JAMF
