The Webroot Endpoint Protection agent for macOS supports 13 languages and obtains information from the operating system to choose the language to use. As the Webroot agent starts, it checks System Preferences and uses language information stored there to determine the agent language.

How to update the language settings for the Webroot macOS agent
  1. On the Mac device, go to System Preferences, update Preferred languages in the Language & Region settings and choose your preferred language.

  2. Reboot the device to start the Webroot agent using the new language.

    OR

  3. Stop the Webroot agent and relaunch it.
    • To do this, the agent must have an Endpoint Protection policy applied that allows the agent icon to be viewed and the agent to be disabled.
    • The Webroot Administrator Guide has more information on Endpoint Protection policies.

List of languages supported by the Webroot macOS agent
What happens if the language selected is not supported?
macOS determines the language to use for an application using the Language & Region settings in System Preferences. Languages are listed in order of preference and the top listed language is used whenever possible. If the top listed language is not supported by an application, it goes down the list and tries the next until a supported language is found.

English is the language of last resort and will be used if none of languages in use are supported.

Here is an example of how language works. If French (supported by Webroot) is listed as #2 and Arabic (not supported by Webroot) is listed as #1, the Webroot agent displays in French.
