How do I renew?

There are three ways to renew your subscription:
  1. Renew your subscription online here.

  2. Call our Sales Support Team - click here for the Sales phone number and hours in your location. A sales agent will help you renew your subscription and provide advice on making sure you are fully protected.
  3. If you originally purchased at Best Buy and you would like to renew the same keycode, call Best Buy at 1-888-237-8289. Be sure to mention your subscription software through Best Buy.

How do I opt out of Automatic Renewal?

Webroot wants to ensure that your PC is protected from ongoing security threats by offering you "Uninterrupted Protection" and by automatically renewing your subscription with us. This will ensure that your PC is never unprotected and left vulnerable to threats. We will also notify you, 30 days and 14 days before your subscription expires to confirm the automatic renewal and provide you with cancellation and update options. Your subscription will always be renewed at our standard renewal price (plus any applicable sales tax).

When deciding whether "Uninterrupted Protection" is right for you, please consider these following benefits to automatic subscription renewal:
  1. Webroot provides updates through our innovative cloud database almost every day. This database is updated so that your software can protect against the latest malware threats with up to the minute determinations. By choosing our "Uninterrupted Protection" option, you ensure that you will continue to receive regular updates and maintain the highest level of protection for your PC.

How do I request a refund? What is the refund policy?

If you purchased from a retail store:
If you have not opened your software, the quickest way to get your refund is to bring your software back to the store where you purchased it. If you have already opened your software or are unable to return it to the store, we can issue a refund check if you have the following:
  1. Original receipt of purchase. The receipt must be dated within 30 days of your refund request.
  2. The original software disc.
  3. Package insert with the keycode (20 alphanumeric characters)

If you have all of these items, send them to one of the addresses below. Include your full name and your mailing address.

How do I activate a new keycode in the program?

If you already have Webroot SecureAnywhere installed you can follow these steps to apply a keycode to the existing installation:

For Windows PC :
  1. Open the Webroot program and click the gear icon next to My Account.

  2. On the account screen, click Activate a new keycode.

  3. Enter your keycode in the field provided and click Activate.

For Mac :
  1. Open the SecureAnywhere interface (click the Webroot icon in the menu bar, then select Open Webroot SecureAnywhere from the drop-down menu).

  2. From the main window, select the gear icon next to My Account.

  3. In the My Account window, click Activate a New Keycode.

  4. Enter the new keycode and click Activate.

Note: If you get an error message when trying to activate a new keycode, be sure that you have entered the keycode properly. Many times the characters i/1, o/0, s/5, b/8 and others are confused when typing the code in manually.
When installing from an email, you can copy and paste the keycode directly into the installer. To copy and paste your keycode, highlight the full keycode with your mouse, right-click the selection, and select Copy from the context menu (alternately press Ctrl+C for PC or Command+C for Mac on your keyboard). When prompted for the keycode, place your cursor in the keycode entry box, right-click, and select Paste from the context menu (alternately Ctrl+V for PC or Command+V for MAC).

How do I register my keycode?

Can I transfer my subscription to a new computer? How do I do this?

All Webroot Software licenses are transferrable to a new computer, as long as your subscription is still active. For instructions on how to install on additional computers, click here. If you don't know if your subscription is valid for more than one computer, refer to this article to find out, or call our Consumer Sales team.  For contact information, visit this webpage.

To transfer your software, follow these steps:
  1. Locate your keycode and write it down. The keycode is a string of 20 alphanumeric characters. It is unique and holds the information in regards to your subscription. Your keycode was sent to you in an email from Webroot (if you purchased the product online) or is printed on a package insert or the CD sleeve (if you purchased the product from a store).

    If you currently have a Webroot product installed on your computer, you can also view the keycode from the main interface, as described below:
    • Open the main interface.
    • Click the gear icon next to My Account.
    • A window opens with your keycode and subscription information.

  2. If your license is for only one computer, or if your license is for multiple computers and you have installed it on the maximum number of systems, you must uninstall the software from your old computer before installing it on the new one. To uninstall the Webroot software, go to the Windows Start menu, select All Programs (or Programs), select the Webroot software, and select the Uninstall... option.

    If you are currently using Webroot SecureAnywhere and have created an online management account, you can view your account to see how many users you have on the online management account website. Click here for more information.

  3. To install or reinstall your software on a computer, simply download and run the installer file for the desired product and enter your keycode. How many computers can I protect? How do I protect additional computers?

The Webroot security software is available with several types of licenses that allow you to install it on up to five computers. If your license is for only one computer, then you cannot install it on additional computers.

If you purchased the Webroot security software online, you should have received an email from Webroot with download instructions. This email indicates if you purchased a 1-User Pack (license for one computer), a 3-User Pack (license for three computers), or a 5-User Pack (license for five computers). If you purchased the Webroot security software from a store, the product packaging shows the number of licenses on bottom, front of the box. The box shows either "5 User," "3 User," or "1 User."

If you are currently using Webroot SecureAnywhere and have created an online management account, you can view your account to see how many users you have and download the installer from the online management account website. Click here for more information.

If you are unsure how many users your license has and no longer have the email or product packaging, you can find out by calling our Consumer Sales team. Contact information is listed on this webpage. You can also contact our sales team if you would like to increase the number of users on your license.

Note: If you have multiple operating systems installed on one computer, each operating system you have Webroot installed on would count as another user on a license. For example, if you had three Windows operating systems on one machine, you would want the "3 User" package to protect them all.

How can I change my Credit Card information?

At this time, we are unable to change a customer's credit card information within our database. If you need to use a different card than the one in our database, we suggest that you call our Sales Team so an agent can renew your subscription early with the new credit card information. You will not lose any of the remaining time on your current subscription by doing this.
