Summary:

Once items are moved to quarantine, they are disabled and cannot harm your computer. We do not recommend deleting quarantined items.

Quarantined items may be false positive detections that need to be restored, or, in rare cases, used to block and quarantine polymorphic malware.

Note: Polymorphic malware are threats that change their file name, path, or signature to evade detection.
