Solution
Webroot includes several features in addition to detecting malware.
- Alerts
- Webroot Mobile Security will alert you if:
- It detects a high risk to the security of your device.
- If outstanding malware needs to be managed, Webroot Mobile Security will provide a message on the home screen.
- Manual and automatic scanning
- Webroot Mobile Security continuously scans your device and is always up-to-date. To run a scan, tap SCAN NOW.
- A "You're Protected" message means your device is free of malware.
- A warning message means there is a security risk, and it will ask you to manage the risk.
- Malware detection
- When Webroot Mobile Security has detected a security risk to your device, a tray will slide up with three choices:
- Remove: This will remove the security risk and prevent the malware from attaching to your device.
- Request a Review: If the high-risk detection seems invalid, request a review and have our threat researchers check into it. Webroot Mobile Security still recommends removing the threat in the meantime to keep your device in safe mode.
- Ignore: Since the app only detects high-risk threats, it is not recommended to ignore any threats to your device.
- SMS threat protection
- Currently only available for Android.
- Leveraging our BrightCloud threat intelligence system, Webroot scans text messages for SMS-based phishing (commonly known as Smishing) links.
- Webroot for Chrome or Safari
- Allows you to add our Web Threat Shield extension to Google Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS.
- Providing Webroot's web filtering while using the default browser on your mobile device.
- Activity Report
- Provides a report of your online safety score.
- The Activity Summary Report provides statistics on the number of apps scanned, threats detected, and website threats.
- Password Manager
- Powered by LastPass, directs you to the Google Play or Apple App Store to download the LastPass Password Manager app.
- VPN
- Directs you to the Google Play Store to download the Webroot Secure VPN app.
Note: Webroot Secure VPN is only available on Windows, macOS, and Android. An iOS-compatible version is planned and will be released later in 2025.
