Summary:

Note: SMS Threat Protection is currently only available for Android.

It requires version 8.1.1 or higher to be installed.

SMS-based phishing (commonly known as Smishing) and SMS spoofing are among the most prevalent mobile attack vectors, accounting for over 30% of mobile threats — a figure that continues to rise.

Webroot SMS Threat Protection automatically scans incoming SMS messages for malicious URLs using our BrightCloud threat intelligence system. Notifications are generated immediately when a potentially harmful message is detected, enabling proactive protection.
