Solution:
Split Tunneling is a VPN feature that allows selected applications to use the encrypted VPN tunnel while all other applications and processes connect to the internet directly.
Note: Split Tunneling is only available on Windows and Android.
Multiport is a feature allowing you, the user, to automatically pick the best ports on your device(s) that aren’t throttled or blocked. Simply put, if you know how to forward ports, you can enter the UDP port numbers in the Webroot Secure VPN app to enable ports based on your unique needs.
I am facing browsing issues for any location on the Webroot Secure VPN app
- Try switching protocols.
- If you are in a location with Heavy Internet Service Provider (ISP) restrictions. (i.e., China or the Middle East) Try a less restrictive location, such as a country or city in Europe or the United States.
- If this does not resolve your issue, try restarting your network. (i.e., Unplug your home router for a minute and then plug it back in)
- If the issue continues, contact Webroot Support.
I am facing browsing issues for a specific location on the Webroot Secure VPN app
- Use another location.
- If two or more locations do not work, contact Webroot Support to verify the server location status.
Supported streaming service
- Select a different city in the same country.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- If using a streaming app, check with the vendor if the app has a cache that can be cleared.
- Use a private or incognito window or tab.
- Contact Webroot Support, providing the IP address listed in Webroot Secure VPN when trying to stream.
Non-supported streaming service
- Select a different city in the same country.
- Clear your browser cache and cookies.
- If using a streaming app, check with the vendor if the app has a cache that can be cleared.
- Use a private or incognito window or tab.
- Contact Webroot Support, providing details about the streaming service and account used.
P2P Servers and locations
- Confirm you are connected to the recommended P2P server location for the torrent app.
- Try a different city or country related to the P2P server location.
- Try a different P2P server in the torrent app.
DNS Flush
Note: If using a Mac, the following terminal command is used:
sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
- Launch an elevated CMD window.
- Type in the following commands in the following order:
- Ipconfig /flushdns
- Ipconfig /registerdns
- Ipconfig /release
- Ipconfig /renew
- Netsh winsock reset
- Restart your PC
Disable IPv6
Note: If using a Mac, the following is used:
System Preferences > Network > AirPort > TCP/IP > then "Configure IPv6" > change to "Off."
- Right-click your Windows Start Menu.
- Go to Network Connections.
- Click the Change adapter option button.
- Right-click your default Internet connection.
- Select Properties from the context menu.
- Make sure Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) is unchecked.
- Click Ok.
- Restart your PC.
I am facing a slow speed issue at any location while using Webroot Secure VPN
- Connect using the Automatic location option and test your internet speed.
- Try switching between protocols.
- Run a speed test using Google or a similar application.
- If these do not resolve the issue, contact Webroot Support, providing the results of your speed test, the protocol(s) used, and the location(s) used.

Test your Antivirus
- Disable or uninstall your Antivirus.
- Restart your device.
- If the issue is resolved, contact your Antivirus vendor for details on allowing Webroot Secure VPN.
- If the issue is not resolved, leave your Antivirus disabled or uninstalled and contact Webroot Support for further assistance.
- Open Secure VPN.
- Click "Settings".
- Toggle "Turn on local LAN connectivity" on.
